Heartbeat Capsule

Heartbeat Capsule is a collaborative project between Ual-Central Saint Martins and Nike & Size?. Over the course of six weeks, we developed a comprehensive design that included concepts, spatial solutions, and a promotional video based on the theme "Future Movement" and the project brief provided by Nike.
We modeled the second-floor space of the Size? store on Carnaby Street and transformed it into an interactive pickup area. When customers place their hand on the drawer handle, the lighting throughout the space pulsates in sync with their heartbeat. This design emphasizes the importance of heart rate during physical activity in the post-pandemic era, while also symbolizing the excitement of receiving a new product.
Because we have signed an agreement with Nike and Size?, we are unable to show all the project details. So I only add our creative process below.

After receiving the detailed spatial plans and conducting an on-site inspection, we used Rhino to accurately construct the space in a digital format.
Since we needed to provide a project budget, we also had to test the feasibility of the concept. To do this, we purchased light bulbs and a heartbeat sensor, and used Arduino to connect the computer, lights, and sensor.
