Cloudtopia
Interactive project design by Hua Yang, Stacy Cong, Zitian Shen, 2022

We envisioned a more digitalized future in 2050, where our lives rely heavily on the metaverse. As the demand for cloud storage space increases, the production of e-waste is causing atmospheric damage, making natural clouds no longer visible. In this scenario, Cloudtopia is our interactive solution to address the environmental pollution caused by e-waste fifty years from now. We visualized the form of e-waste and assigned a price to each generated cloud. The revenue generated from these clouds will be invested in environmental purification once they are put into actual production.

Concept Overview
After conducting research, we have designed the user experience as follows: Users will generate a digital cloud by their breath, creating a personalized NFT cloud. Upon purchase, the proceeds will be donated.
But how to generate a cloud? (PC Record)
Experience Process:
1.Electronic Cloud Generation: The app generates an electronic cloud shape based on the concentration of carbon dioxide in the user's breath.
2.User Interaction: The user can click to pause and freeze the electronic cloud in its current shape.
3.Pricing: Once the shape is selected, the software assigns a corresponding price to the generated cloud.
When creating this app, we used Unreal Engine to edit the particle system, adjusting parameters such as color change and disappearance over time. We also connected sound inputs, developed a click-through interface, and exported the final program as a PC version.
Therefore, we envisioned this software to be used on mobile devices, so we have only designed the UI and UX for the mobile version:

Imagine a world where only the last cloud remains. As humans, should we save it, or, like most companies, become consumed by our addiction to consumerism? Julia is a busy worker, but today, this choice has fallen on her shoulders.
